Author Guidelines

Author Guidelines

All manuscripts submitted to Fırat University Journal of Software and Informatics Research Institute must comply with the following writing and formatting requirements. Manuscripts that do not conform to these guidelines will be returned to the authors without review.

Manuscripts must be original, must not have been published previously, and must not be under consideration elsewhere. All authors must have valid ORCID identifiers. The recommended maximum length of manuscripts is 25 pages. Author information must be provided at the time of initial submission. All abbreviations should be defined at first use and used consistently thereafter.

Page Layout

Manuscripts must be prepared in A4 format (210 × 297 mm) with the following margins:

• Top: 25 mm

• Bottom: 25 mm

• Left: 25 mm

• Right: 25 mm

• Header/Footer: 15 mm

Page numbers, headers, and footers should not be added by the authors.

Font and Text Formatting

• Font: Times New Roman

• Main text: 11 pt, justified

• Line spacing: Single

• Paragraph indentation: None

• One blank line should be left between paragraphs

Headings

The IMRAD structure (Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion) is recommended where applicable.

• Headings must be numbered

• First-level headings: All major words capitalized and bold

• Second-level headings: Only the first word capitalized and bold

• All headings must be left-aligned

• One blank line should be left before and after headings

Title and Author Information

• Title: 12 pt, bold, centered

• Author names: 10 pt, centered

• Affiliations: 9 pt

• E-mail addresses must be provided below affiliations

• ORCID identifiers must be included

Abstract and Keywords

(Abstract in English is mandatory; a Turkish abstract may be included if required.)

• Abstract length: 100–250 words

• Font size: 10 pt

• Must be written as a single paragraph

• Abbreviations, citations, and equations should not be used

Keywords:

• 3–5 keywords must be provided

• Each keyword should start with a capital letter

• Keywords must follow the abstract

Equations

• Equations must be written on separate lines and numbered

• Equation numbers should be aligned to the right

• MS Word equation editor must be used

• Decimal separator must be a period (.)

Figures

• Figures must be numbered consecutively (e.g., Figure 1, Figure 2)

• Figure captions must be placed below the figures

• Font size within figures: 8–10 pt

• Images must have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi

• All figures must be cited within the text

Tables

• Tables must be numbered consecutively (e.g., Table 1, Table 2)

• Table titles must be placed above the tables

• Font size: 8–10 pt

• All tables must be referenced within the text

References

• References must follow the IEEE citation style

• In-text citations must be indicated using square brackets (e.g., [1])

• References must be listed in the order of appearance in the text

Declarations

The following statements must be included at the end of the manuscript:

Ethics Approval
This study [does not require ethics approval / was approved by … (institution, date, and approval number)].

Informed Consent
In studies involving human participants:
“Informed consent was obtained from all participants.”
(If not applicable, state accordingly.)

Data Availability Statement
The data used in this study are [publicly available / available upon reasonable request / not publicly available due to …].

Conflict of Interest
The authors declare that they have no conflict of interest.
(If any, it must be clearly stated.)

Funding
This research received no external funding.
(If applicable, funding sources must be specified.)

Author Contributions
The contributions of each author must be clearly stated.

Revision and Final Submission

After acceptance, authors must revise and format their manuscripts in accordance with the journal template and upload the final version to the system. No typesetting or formatting corrections will be performed by the editorial office beyond minor technical adjustments.
